Francis Kenneth - Resolutions

New Year’s will bring so much to say.”

Congratulations to everyone reading this! You survived the end of the world in 2012, Mayan style. I would also like to congratulate those of you who are still going strong with their New Year’s resolution(s), plural for some of you. Save your applause for the end of 2013, but I, for the most part, have stuck through with mine.

My resolution? 365 days of exercise. I wanted to steer clear of those “absolute” goals to lose weight or get “swoll” because people forget the point of it all, and that is to BE HEALTHY. Six pack or not, being fit and in shape is something everyone should take pride in. Also, with exercise comes balance. How many times have you gone to the gym to see bros killing it on the bench press, but have no legs to show for it? You’re neglecting yourself by strictly focusing on the what looks good as opposed to what feels good.

I’m a huge advocate for good cardio exercises (running, basketball, and full body workouts to be exact), and truth be told, I rarely lift weights for isolated muscles (which probably explains why I have the figure of a teenage boy going through puberty). Either way, cardio exercises work out the entire body, but most importantly, your heart. A strong heart trumps all!

So, at your next work out, remember that your health is the reason. Good luck!
