CALL WAITING

“And happiness it does exist, but I don’t know if this is it.”

I spent the majority of my adulthood thinking what it is I wanted out of life. The search for fulfillment is a never-ending journey with the predominately choleric, somewhat melancholy temperament I live with.

I paid my brother a visit at UCLA yesterday evening, and after having a good, long talk with him (who is a choleric-melancholy as well), he helped me understand something about us. I came to the realization that our happiness isn’t measured by our own success, that all we have and will accomplish is trivial if we keep them to ourselves. I realized the happiness of those around us is the real source for own, and in turn, will be our greatest achievement. Our “calling.” Whether you have the same personality or not, I think it’s safe to say that’s something we should all strive for.

After all, your greatest moments are often the ones that have nothing to do with you…
