Shinsengumi‘s hakata ramen and yakitori. CoCo Ichibanya‘s fried chicken and vegetable curry. Mammoth Bakery‘s menchi-katsu sandwiches. SUSHI. Need I say more? I will, but only to explain why it’s relevant.

Thanks to my half Japanese girlfriend, I’ve come to terms with something I thought would never, ever happen: I prefer the food of the Japanese over my native Filipino. Yes, I had a bias my whole life, so what?

I was thinking about what I wanted to eat the other day, and all the things that came to mind were the ones I listed. I CRAVE those things on a weekly basis.

This can’t be good. What is happening to me?

Come to think of it, I prefer most things Japanese. These photos were taken in Little Tokyo for crying out loud!
