SPRING FORTH

Last year, Sly and I celebrated my 26th birthday weekend with a trip to Seattle. One of my old friends, Rachel Johnson, was kind of enough to not only let us stay at her place, but also show us around the city. She was the most amazing host. Thanks Rache!

During our short trip, we met Jamie and Sarah, the lovely ladies of Winslow Ties, while walking around the Fremont Sunday Market. Now, before I continue, I have to point out how much better the farmers markets are in Seattle than they are here in Los Angeles. Of all the the things that I saw that morning, I was most intrigued by Jamie and Sarah’s collection of ties and pocket squares. After getting acquainted, I learned that all of their items were “made entirely from vintage, dead stock, and repurposed wools, cottons, and linens.” Even more impressive is that they’re all handmade, and because of this, each product is limited in quantity like a 1st edition Charizard! It’s so rare nowadays to find companies who put this kind of effort into their work, so this collab was a no brainer. We exchanged contact info, and kept in touch over the following months. They sent me a bow tie to work with, and I thought it was the perfect compliment to this dapper Spring look.

Thanks to Winslow Ties for doing what they do, and sending me one of their bow ties! It was so great meeting them, and it was a pleasure to revolve an outfit around this piece. If you ladies and gents like what you see, head over to their online shop and pick one up.

Oh, and if you want your own custom tie, they can make it happen!
