I could post countless quotes about how much your appearance (clothing, hygiene, grooming, etc) matters, but that’s completely up to you. You’re capable of making your own decisions, so there’s no need for me to touch on that. I will, however, stress the important of manners. That’s right, those things you were taught as a kid. If you weren’t, this especially applies to you.

For starters, greetings are not overrated. Saying hi, especially accompanied with a warm smile, to people in passing can really light up their day. Not to mention, it’s contagious. Secondly, take a note from Barney (not to be confused with Barneys New York), PLEASE and THANK YOU are magical. I’m starting to notice more and more people forget to say these simple words in their exchanges. When and why the hell is this happening? When asking for something, say please. When given something, say thank you. Lastly, RESPECT everyone, even if we feel like they’re undeserving of it. We never know what other people have gone or are going through, but respecting them no matter what, makes it easier for everyone to get along. Yes, we have to give respect to get respect, but even if we’re disrespected, let’s respect ourselves enough to not retaliate.

Now, add all of that to your appearance, and you’ll be in good form.
