THE HEART OF COGNAC EXPERIENCE, DAY 3

The third day of our trip started off at Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa at The Plaza hotel. I’ve never been to an actual spa, so it was a pleasant surprise (total understatement). If there is a heaven, I’m pretty sure I died and went (enjoyed some tea while I was there too). It was much needed, especially with a day full of further exploring the city.

After the spa, we met up with our photographer friend Rafael Clemente at Misoya Ramen for lunch. Everyone told us Ippudo was better, and maybe so, but Misoya was pretty good (that karaage chicken though). We proceeded with a quick tour by foot through the city with stops at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop and this alley for a quick shoot.

Later on in the evening, we met up with our Jersey friends, Jeanne and Varick. They picked us up and drove us to some other cool spots around town. As touristy as it is, no trip to the Big Apple is complete without visiting one of its many bridges, so to the Brooklyn Bridge we went. “Breathtaking” views if I could say so myself. Nice touch, Varick.

Oh, and we dropped by Mei Li Wah for what has to be some of the best pork buns I’ve ever had!

Remy Martin capped our weekend off with an amazing dinner at Balthazar, which consisted of a Remy Martin 1738 sidecar cocktail, seafood ceviche paired with Picpoul de Pinet wine, steak au poivre paired with Montagne St. Emilion wine, and warm chocolate cake and espresso. Let’s just say, I couldn’t function afterwards. To make matters worse, Jeanne and Varick thought it would be a good idea to get more dessert at Rice to Riches. Ain’t mad though.

Thanks again to our friends and the Remy team for a French inspired experience in New York. I can’t wait to return for my birthday weekend in September!
